The wolf tried to catch Sunna once again. And once again, the human race came together and screamed, yelled, clapped, and made such a ruckus that she was able to escape the jaws of the wolf. Our keeper of days has survived! Hail Sunna!

Ok, I am admittedly late to posting this.  I was not near computer/TV over the weekend, and only learned about Charlottesville Sunday when eating a late lunch on the way home... and admittedly it wasn't learning much.  My first thought was "Thank the Gods we're not at war."  War with North Korea was the biggest fear Friday afternoon, the last time I saw news.  It wasn't until today that I got a chance to actually read about what happened and have time to write anything.

The following is a copy of the email I sent to the MG along with ADF-Discuss and ADF-Leadership.  A link to this page was also shared on the ADF General Discuss group.  A new post will be made with any results.

It has recently come to my attention that our 2017 Elections Officer (EO), Bonnie Landry, was also running for office as NERD while also running the elections.

First, let me say I have no doubt that the results are correct, as she was running unopposed.  So, let us not go down that rabbit hole, I don't see a need for re-voting.

First a little history.

Gradients, again.

So, I took another stab at long gradients.  This time I tried to learn from the mistakes I made the previous time.  As with last time, I did a base dye of red.  From there, things differed.

Gradients

Now that I have a couple dye jobs under my belt, I think I have a reasonable idea how the dyes take to the wool and what the process is like.  So, it was time to attempt something a little more difficult -- gradients.

Consistent Blues

After I screwed up measuring the amount of dye needed for my first batch, I decided it was best to move towards measuring dye by volume.  Now I know this is less accurate, but it should be close.  My goal this time was to do 2 of the same yarn and see if I could be consistent and get the same color.

Yesterday we saw another campaign promise fulfilled with the reversal of the Obama's rules for schools with regards to transgender children and their access to bathrooms.  This was a sad day because of that, because we are removing protections for some of our most vulnerable children.  I hope this is the end of this kind of executive action, but as long as there are members of the social reich in the White House and having the President's ear, we will continue to have this kind of action.

Two Yules ago, The Woolery had their annual 12 days of fiber toys sale, and a Greener Shades starter kit was on sale.  I bought it and left it sit in a drawer for over a year.  With this year's tax returns, I decided it was time to start using it.  So, I found a source of undyed wool in Wool2Dye4.  First a word on this company.  They have beautiful yarns.

As this is being published, there is a new era of American politics that is starting.  Let me start off by saying that I do not wish to see him fail.  To wish the president to fail is wishing that we as a country fail.  So, no, I don't wish him to fail.  That does not mean I support his agenda, whatever it may be, or that I support the man.  I respect and support the office.  The man on the other hand is a completely different story, and it's well documented why he is not a man to celebrate.
