What follows is what I submitted as my report as Information Manager for the annual meeting.
This past year has been a good year for the web team. There have not been any major issues that have come up and we have been able to maintain what we have been providing. A few things I want to point out though. The ADF site has just undergone a software upgrade. There have been some minor issues that arose out of this that didn't come up in testing. All the issues I have been made aware of have been fixed as quickly as I could fix them, and nothing is outstanding at the time of this writing. For most people there shouldn't be much of a noticeable change, but one thing I am sure will be appreciated is that the theme is now more responsive and will display better on smaller screens like smart phones. This upgrade, according to my quick calculation, involved the modification and upgrade of existing custom code numbering over 27 thousand lines. As part of the upgrade we also had to set the permissions on each of approximately 70 roles with almost 1000 different options. To have things go as smoothly as they did is a result of the planning that was done and the testing that the web team did. Many thanks to everyone that helped out. We also have had 5 groves and protogroves that have taken us up on hosting plans. We are providing space and domain registration to these groves at a reasonable cost. This cost is helping defray the cost of running our own server, which is currently around $2500. With the hosting that has brought the cost down closer to $2000. I call on all the groves and protogroves within ADF to consider hosting with us. We are more than willing to give you what you need for your website and support you as much as we can, and what you pay will go directly to ADF and support ADF. You can find hosting information at https://www.adf.org/branch-hosting/ Along with providing hosting for groves and protogroves, we have also given space to each of the regions. If your regional druid has taken us up on this offer you can find them at REGION.adf.org, such as http://northeast.adf.org/ So, overall, we have had a good and productive year. At this time though, I have come to the conclusion that due to many different things I have to resign from the role of Information Manager. I have been in this role since 2009, and I have taken our web presence and data management to a modern system from a home built, custom code base. I have passed the keys and as much information as I can to Art Shipkowski and Luke Landry. I have tried to give them a better start than what I had, and wish them or whomever replaces me if it is not them the best of luck.
