Kirk (the cat) has gone back to the vet today for a follow up to see how the drugs are working for him. I have to say, in the past couple weeks, he has become himself again. The inappropriate urination has stopped, and he's been more snuggly like he usually was prior to Christmas. Overall, he's back to what he was like... for better or worse. The goal of the vet visit was a heart rate between 120 and 160. It was around 150 when he was calm, and 180 when he was excited... not bad overall, especially considering he was at a place that makes him nervous. What was more encouraging though was the heart murmur was significantly better, a grade 2/3 that was difficult to find vs a grade 5 that could be heard everywhere. I have to say, I am very happy with the visit, and Kirk won't have to go back till July for another echocardiogram. Hopefully the murmur stays improved.
Best part of the day, the cost was $30... I'll probably never see a vet bill that cheep ever again. They said the price and I almost had heart problems from the shock ;)
