This has to have been one of the worst starts to fall I've had in a long while. When October hit, I got hit with some kind of eye issue. Still have no idea what it was, but one, and only one, eye started to be seeking up. After it was obvious it was not allergic, I went to the doctors, was prescribed antibiotics, and went on my merry way. Well, it took about a week for that to clear up, just in time for my annual change of seasons cold to hit. I was out of it for about 3 days, and was feeling mostly myself by Sunday the 11th.
On that day, I cut the back yard for the first time all year. This had to be done as the leaves were starting to change and I need short grass before I start raking. That night, I notice I broke out all over. I thought it was something environmental like poison ivy as I have had server reactions to that. Nope, the doc saw me the next day.... Hives, and most likely due to the antibiotics I had finished up that morning. FUCK. I get prescribed zantac, benadryl, and cortisone cream. They finally started to disappear the following weekend.
For those counting, that was literally half the month I was dealing with medical shit. Thankfully I am all better now, and the hives only are a shadow of what they were.
Now last weekend, I went to the sheep and wool festival at Rhinebeck, NY. Http://WWW.sheep and wool.com. This was an amazing event. Oh my good, the account of fiber there! Also plenty of equipment for sale and loads of fiber producing animals on display and competition. I spent about 3 hours there and had a great time. I will definitely go back again. My haul was modest as I didn't want to spend too much. I got things I needed... A niddy noddy, nostepin, and 2 pounds of combed top Romney roving... Which will be spun into something and possibly dyed too.
This weekend is harvest nights festival http://charteroakadf.org/harvest-nights/ which will surely be a fun time. More on that and a big event for my grove in the next post.
