I went to go hiking and didn't plan on an early start in the Catskills, and never expected it would be a problem to find parking. My goal was Halcott. Well, I get there about 10 in the morning and the lot is full. So I go down to Shaft road to think and come up with doing Sherill. I had plans in the evening, so I only planned on doing one peak.
This time was easier than the last time as I knew where I was going. The hike in along the side of the hill was not bad. The turn up to the top had random sightings of a previous track that I tried to follow. Once on top the track was mostly visible and I got to the canister with no real issues. Coming down was just fine, but it was windy enough that I could see my tracks being blown in. Overall, it was a nice little hike, but next time, I'll get North Dome from the DP.
This makes 11/33 for winter 3500.
