We discussed Beltane traditions along with how we celebrated our Beltane. Here are some bits of what was discussed:
- This is a fertility Festival
- The Mountain Ancestors Grove used the land of Colorado as their being of the occasion
- Tear of the Cloud Grove honored Bellanos and Danu
- This is a festival that is all about fertility, and sexual energy
- Fire is one of the big traditions
- Bel fires in Ireland where they drive animals between for fertility
- Jumping fires in modern Pagan context to promote fertility
- Maypole is a common tradition
- The pole is representative of the male, the hole in the ground is representative of the female, and the dance is celebration of their union.
- The dance is also weaving (literally) fertility magic
